Are these real installations?

Yes. Every image in the gallery is a completed Solarlux installation rather than a render or a mock-up, from bi-folding doors and sliding walls to canopies, wintergardens and glazed terraces.

Can you build something like one of these for my house?

In most cases, yes. Tell us which installation you like and send the size of your opening with a few photographs, and we will confirm whether the same system works in your space and what it involves.

How do I find out which system was used?

Accepted Answer

Look at how the opening works. Panels that fold back in a run are bi-folding doors, leaves that slide past one another are sliding doors or sliding walls, and a glazed roof over a room is a wintergarden. Send us the image and we will tell you.

Question 4

Do you work on listed and period buildings?

Accepted Answer

We do. Older buildings usually need the head detail, the framing and the finish thought through carefully, so we look at the opening with you before proposing a system.

Are the projects local to me?

The installations shown are Solarlux's own project photography, so they stretch across the UK and Europe. Our own work covers London, Surrey, Hampshire and the Home Counties.

Can I see a completed installation in person?

Accepted Answer

Our showroom at 275-277 Ewell Road, Surbiton KT6 7AB has working systems, so you can open and close them yourself. Visits are by appointment, so call 0207 550 6550 to book one.

What opening sizes are possible?

Panels run from standard door widths up to the large single leaves used in cero sliding windows and horizontal sliding walls. Send us the opening dimensions and we will tell you how few panels it can be done in.

How much does a project like these cost?

Accepted Answer

Price follows the opening size, the number of panels, the glass build, the finish and the access on site. Send the dimensions and we will quote it properly, and our free budget guide explains what moves the number.

Question 9

Can the finish be matched to windows I already have?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Profiles come in powder-coated aluminium, wood and wood/aluminium, with a wide range of RAL and anodised finishes, and we can match a colour or texture you already have where the system allows.

How long does a project take from enquiry to installation?

Accepted Answer

Your quotation carries a confirmed lead time. After the survey the system is manufactured in Germany, then installed by our own team on a date agreed around your build programme.
